Malfeitona popularized the styles “ignorant style”, “homemade tattoo” and “trash tattoo” in Brazil and abroad – which she already called “lame tattoos”, introducing the term of northeastern and northern origins into articles published in national and international media outlets. Her tattoos are a reflection of the great mix of references that make the artist unique: simple lines, but with lots of details; contrasts between the cute and the aggressive; serious subjects illustrated with humor, and light themes with sophisticated language; bright and flat colors, with criticisms of “artistic academicism” and the culture of perfection in art. Expressive and original, Malfeitona also brings influences from the aesthetics of the 1990s, from comics, from Japanese anime that were shown on open TV, from amateur popular art – such as dish towels, daycare walls and signs –, and also from the street signs of Salvador’s shops.

Among the works best known to the public are Mônica Darkzera – – which even gained an official version by Maurício de Souza studios and Dollynho de Ressaca. In 2017, the artistic style very unique and unusual among tattoo artists caught the attention of the press, generating controversy in the world of art and in the tattoo universe. From this projection, Malfeitona travels throughout Brazil and the world taking his art to the most diverse skins.
